PATSY

The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald

What if Lee Harvey Oswald had survived Jack Ruby’s attack — and stood trial for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy?

A novel by Ryan Wade

Patsy: The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald by Ryan Wade. Sepia cover featuring Oswald and a Dallas Police identification placard.

Case file — Dallas, Texas

A trial history never held

Most books about the assassination tell you what to believe. This one hands you the file. The evidence, the testimony, and the forensic record are real — the trial that examines them is not.

01

The evidence

The forensics, the testimony, the record as it actually stands — drawn from the historical record and assembled without a thesis to defend.

02

The arguments

Prosecution and defense, argued at full strength by fictional counsel. The novel does not tip its hand, and neither does the record.

03

The verdict

The book ends where a jury begins. What you decide is yours to carry.

“The evidence is presented. The arguments are made. The verdict is yours.”

About the book

Patsy: The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald

Patsy: The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald is an alternate-history courtroom novel by Ryan Wade, built around the historical evidence in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Dallas, November 24, 1963. Two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, nightclub owner Jack Ruby shoots the accused assassin in front of live television cameras — and history closes its file before it is ever opened.

Patsy imagines the other timeline. Lee Harvey Oswald survives. He stands trial in a Dallas courtroom for the murder of the President of the United States, with the full weight of the evidence against him — and a defense that intends to use every piece of it.

The evidence, the testimony, and the forensic record are drawn from history. The courtroom proceedings, the fictional lead counsel, and the narrative built around them are imagined. This is not a conspiracy novel, and it does not tell readers what to conclude. You will see what the prosecution sees. You will hear what the defense hears. Then the verdict is yours.
